Today is our daughters birthday! It is surprising how fast time goes when you are watching children grow. It goes by too quickly and they reach those milestones before you know it. Well, Alex is now 4 years old, the last year of having a toddler around. She may be disappointed, momentarily, that she didn’t wake up a big person today, but her shiny new bike should quell that.
In celebration of her special day, I thought I would let her take over The Green Onion Blog. I asked her what her favorite 5 books on our shelves were and why. After pulling out half the kids books and asking her to find her favorites, not the ones on top, we have narrowed down the list.
5. Ballet Cat: The Totally Secret Secret by Bob Shea
D’at’s the ballet one. It is my favo’wit a’cause it is funny. I love the Cat a’cause she is beautiful.
4. The Very Cranky Bear by Nick Bland
It’s scary! The sheep is hiding out in d’a rain. D’en the bear comes and he is angry and the sheep cuts all the hairs and makes a piwwow and the bear is his friend. Yaaaaay.
3. Mud Puddle by Robert Munsch
Oh, I like this one a’cause of the Dad. (There is no father in this story. But she is pretty sure that is why its her favorite.)
2. Aladdin: Carry-along Storybook
I like it a’cause it is clean and shiny and I can carry it a’wound.
1. Everyone Poops by Taro Gomi
A’cause I like to eat and I like to poop.
Thanks booknerds, for letting my little Onion share.
Hahaha what a cute idea! I should let my 4 year old pick out her favourites!
