Black Cat and Blue Sea Award

The Black Cat and Blue Sea Award, I’m not even sure what that means.  But, I absolutely appreciate the nomination from the always wonderful Book Mermaid.  Thank you Marta, you have been such a great support for The Green Onion Blog.  If you have yet to check out The Book Mermaid blog, make sure you do, full of consistently great content.  As for this award, I appreciate two things about it.  One: it comes with its own handy image stating the rules.  Two: it is short and easy.

1. Do you usually listen to music when you’re writing your posts?

I simply cannot do it.  I have found that I can write through almost anything.  I can get a post done when the kids are watching the most obnoxious cartoons.  While I am running errands and have two or three minutes at a time to write.  But, when I have space and time, if I put on music, for some reason that will distract me and I have to turn it off.

2. What are your favorite posts to write?

Everything!  I guess I enjoy doing top 10 lists because they are fun and I can usually learn a thing or two.  But, the best posts are the ones that pour out organically without much overthinking.  The words just stream out until suddenly you are way over your word count goal, usually a review of a good book.  Yesterdays, Top 10 Scariest Things on Earth has been my favorite post to write thus far in my blogging career.

3. How many books did you read last month?

Oh book statistics, my favorite.  So far this month I have read 2.5 adult fiction, 5 graphic novels, 50ish children’s stories, and 100’s of blogs.

Questions and Tags-

  1. How often do you post on your blog?  Do you hold to any sort of schedule?

It’s the first time I see this tag. I like having music in the background, but on small doses so I turn on the radio because I never pay attention to people talking.

Thats true, background noise is helpful, just nothing that I really want to listen to

  2. Thank you for the tag! I love that you included hundreds of blogs in your answer for reading, because it is soooo true. I spend much more time reading through my favorite blogs than actual books 😂

No problem. It is true though, eh? Im sure if I could tally the amount of posts I read a month it would equate to a couple novels
