A while back I stumbled upon the wonderful site of Just Call Me Elm or Something. Who just happens to be hosting the #2016BloggerAwards. Due to my November NaNoWriMo hiatus my nominations had to wait. So it is time to get them in before the December 31 deadline. There are so many amazing blogs and bloggers that deserve recognition and this is a wonderful opportunity. Narrowing down to these 12 categories is difficult and I wish I could nominate more, but I will do my best.
Here are the rules, as posted on the Just Call Me Elm or Something Blog:
• It is preferred if you nominate one blog/blogger per award, but if you’re finding this difficult, two should be the maximum.
• Post ALL NOMINATIONS on this post, or write a post that links to this post so that I am notified as to who you have nominated. If you don’t know how to make a pingback, you can always ask, or email me.
• If you do not link your nominations to this post in some way, they cannot be counted.
• You must link your nominees to their blog – just writing a name will result in confusion, because there are multiple Em’s to give an example.
• Please tag your blog posts that relate to the awards with the hashtag #2016BloggerAwards. This is so that both the readers and I can keep track of any nominations.
• Results will be posted on 31 December, to allow as many people to submit their nominations as possible.
Blogger of the Year-
Emily @ Rose Read. She just killed it on NaBloPoMo, and her Tagstravaganza was equally as entertaining. Her site has been one of my favorite places to go all year. I love her voice, her opinions, her interests, and anything else she wants to share with us lucky readers.
Blog of the Year-
I cant help it, whatever.scalzi.com. I know its not really fare because he is so flipping famous. However, his blog means a lot to me. He is a trend setter, he has important things to say, he inspired me to blog and it is where I would like to be.
This is easy. Michael J. Miller of My Comic Relief. No matter where I see his name, in comments, twitter or whatever, he always has the nicest, most positive things to say. Michael has been one of my biggest supporters and I am certain there are many other bloggers that would say the same thing.
Most Approachable Blogger-
Zeezee with Books. Zeezee was well established long before I started blogging. But, right from the beginning she has been approachable and involved in so many bloggers lives.
Best New Blogger-
Teacher of YA. This was tough, considering I and most my blogging friends are in our rookie seasons. But, Teacher of YA is a great site that deserves the recognition.
Most Positive Blog-
BeautyBeyondBones. Her blog is centred around the growing battle with eating disorders. Being open and honest about her experiences she truly just wants to help others. Even if it is just one.
Most Helpful Blogger-
Books Vertigo and Tea. Seriously, she is just everywhere, helping and sharing everything she can. A wonderful blog, blogger, and person, she deserves this award.
Best Looking Blog-
The Urban Kit. Absolutely, 100% Ela’s site is one of the most gorgeous places to go on WordPress.
Most Relatable Blogger-
Targo76 @ My Side of the Laundry Room. This catergory feels really subjective so, from my point of view, I can relate with My Side of the Laundry Room because I would be happy to have half a laundry room to put my geeky stuff up. As it goes Im lucky to have a bookshelf.
Most Creative Blogger-
Bookshelf Battle. Unfortunately, the Bookshelf Battle blog has recently been taken over by a Yeti, so they may not be able to accept any awards they receive. Either way I am proud to be one of the 3.5 readers.
Comic Booger. I was going to nominate Olaf for the best new blogger, but thinking about it, he’s hilarious. Don’t believe me check out his post on why Batman v Superman is the best movie of all time.
Chocolatenwafflesblog. Because there were many categories that I could have easily nominated her but ran out of spaces. She runs a fantastic site, and she deserves some recognition.
Thanks booknerds, I am sorry to the many, many blogs that deserve a nomination. This was harder than I thought it would be.
