Red Onion Review: The Lorax by Dr. Seuss

Listen to me, I know when you saw the title for this review, you thought “oh no, Red is going to go off about global warming again”.  Well, while global warming is FAKE NEWS, created by China and the Dems as a scare tactic, that is a bigly misconception about what The Lorax is about.  I have a lot of respect for this book.  It has been toted as a warning about “environmental issues”, lies, those people clearly didn’t read this book.  The Lorax is a rags to riches story about our hero the Once-ler.

Published in 1971, when everyone was focused on making money, not political issues or environmentalism.  The Lorax was written by Theodor Seuss Geisel, under the pen name Dr. Seuss.  Dr. Seuss is amazing, I have my assistants read me books like ‘Cat in the Hat’, ‘Hop on Pop’, and ‘Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You?’, like, every night before they tuck me into bed.  Great stuff.  Also, Seuss is the creator of my favourite Christmas character, The Grinch, smart man.  But, it is The Lorax that helps drive the way I approach life and do business.

The story begins with a shot of our heroes mansion.  Built in a solitary paradise, with really tall walls, like the best walls.  The clever hero, the Once-ler charges children money and treasures in exchange for his story.  Smart move, 100% profit, sucker kids.  The tremendous Once-ler then shares his story of how he got like, super rich and powerful.  Way back when he discovered an unprotected forest, the Once-ler quickly started creating things that all people need, Thneeds.  Obviously a metaphor for reality television shows.  And, he bigly startd turning a major profit.  That is when The Lorax shows up, such a nasty tree spirit.  Claiming he speaks for the trees, FAKE NEWS.  And paying protesters to look sick and try and make the Once-ler look bad.  The really smart Once-ler doesn’t fall for his Dem tricks and keeps on biggering and biggering his production, and profit.  When the Once-ler finally chops down all of the trees, he chases the paid protesters and the nasty Lorax away.  Such a win, tremendous victory.  That is not all.  The Once-ler then tricks the visiting children into growing more trees, which he can then chop down for more profit, so smart.

This book is evidence that deforestation has no impact on the environment.  The Lorax and his paid protesters moved along and found somewhere else to go.  And, they built a town where the forest used to be.  That’s jobs, housing, this is all great stuff for America!  Nobody was hurt, they just hate the Once-ler for being smart, and making money, jealous.  Dr. Seuss has even said “I was out to attack what I think are “evil” things”. Clearly Seuss was frustrated with protesters, Dems, and their FAKE NEWS.  Smart.

4/5, this is a great book that everyone should be reading.  It will teach you how to be an innovator, make lots and lots of money, and how to take care of the “bad guys”.  I love this book for speaking out against the media, and global warming.  The Lorax is one of the best books for saying, it doesn’t matter how many trees you chop down, they are just there to make money.

Thanks booknerds, go kill some trees.

This book has my favorite Dr. Seuss line “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not!”. Love that quote.
