Happy Sunday, another week down. And, what a week we had! It was Star Wars day, Free Comic Book Day, and the release of the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy. I started this geek-centric week with a visit to Calgary Comic Expo last Sunday. Blogging my Comicon experience live was a fun success but, made the last Mise en Place more of a… *ahem* Messy Place… I’ve been saving that joke for months, waiting for the right moment. Do I feel better? No. It’s a terrible joke, I feel terrible. Anyways, let’s get on with things and talk about last weeks posts, what’s coming up, and of course, what’s going on.
What’s Going On-
Writing, writing, writing. I sat down on Monday to organize all the projects I have going currently. It looks so much more daunting when you put it pen to paper. A couple major projects that I am pushing to get done so I can start sharing it, take up most the time. Add in all the blogging, and comps, and I really need to buckle down and give myself a solid schedule and due dates. This kept me up late the other night so as to not fall behind; I am feeling good and productive though. The more of these things I can get done the better my chances at finding some funds and compensation. Ultimately so I can just keep writing and doing more projects.
Lots of good family fun time this week. Other than our Comic Expo trip, and our opening day screening of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, the weather is finally starting to be our friends and we have taken advantage. Some soccer, lots of parks, we even had our first picnic of the year. After all this family fun, I don’t know how I will step it up for next Sundays Mother’s Day. I’ll think of something- because I’m a friggin’ sweetheart… and y’know, she deserves it or whatever.
Mother’s Day isn’t the only big day coming up this week. This upcoming Thursday commemorates the one year anniversary of the official launch of The Green Onion Blog! That’s right, my little bloggy-poo is turning one this week! They grow up so fast don’t they? Well I have something very special planned, and it involves another popular blogger, and good friend, who is also celebrating year one. Stay tuned.
Last Weeks Posts-
- I love kicking the month off with the Pop Culture History lesson and May is full of some great stuff.
- As a special May the 4th celebration I invited our old friend back for a special Star Wars Day post. Check out Red Onion’s review of The Star Wars. Warning: he pretty much talks about cake the whole time.
- It took a while but yesterday was the return of Chef Green’s Choice Cuts. Featuring stuff on Star Wars, Jay and Silent Bob, and some Cosmere news.
It is hard to believe that I started this blogging project one year ago now. It does fly by. Absolutely be sure to check back in for the birthday celebration. Also, this week I will review a fantasy short story that blew me away. With Mom Day around the corner we should break down some of the best KidLit to share with all the Mamas. As always, all this and more, stay tuned and be certain to check back in.
Thanks booknerds, I think I’ll enjoy a relaxing rainy Sunday afternoon.
