Good morning. Good afternoon. Good evening. Good weekend. Good day before Monday. A happy Sunday to all. It’s time for the ol’ G.O.B. Sunday Mise en Place. Recently I received a message from a concerned follower that I was not giving the French the proper credit for the phrase “Mise en Place”. So, thank you um,… French. Of course I took the phrase from the common culinary term referring to having all of your ingredients, tools, and equipment ready to go before you get started cooking. In terms of this blogging Mise en Place it’s about having last week wrapped up, having a plan going forward, and sharing with everyone where my heads at, or you know, what’s going on. Might as well start there, so, what’s going on?
What’s Going On-
By now hopefully you’ve noticed the new images. The Green Onion Blog has a fresh, more professional look. Honestly, this is something I’ve been trying to get done for a long time. I was hoping to have my brother, who is my favourite artist, create a new logo for the blog. Unfortunately, I have lost him to the world of Pokemon Go. With my one year of blogging recently passing, I decided it was important I did something now. After a lot of trial and error, a lot of ugly logos, a lot of different apps, I finally landed on the simple design you see today.
I love the new design. I’ve been playing around with colours, patterns, and style. The onion is simple and fun, and I have incorporated it as part of a rating system for my book reviews. As for the rest of the logo, I like to think the triangles represent the Rocky mountains that I call home. More so, there is a tiny point at the bottom that would point to where I am. Not quite in the mountains but with a darn good view. Other than that, the overall symbol looks like a space ship, considering the dork I am, it’s fitting.
Other than that, what’s been up? We’ve been trying to get our kids to commit to an extra curricular activity for the upcoming summer. It’s one thing to try to get a small child to choose one thing. But, between navigating the many options, the costs, the facilities, it’s actually become quite the ordeal. Luckily, Jenn’s fantastic mother has been helping a lot with it, and is trying to find a karate dojo for Alex right now. As for Zyler, it may prove impossible to get him to focus on one thing, and we may need to give him a few different activities to try out this summer.
Last Weeks Posts-
