Sunday Mise en Place (July 17 to 23, ‘017)

Sunday, Sunday.  What is up everybody?  You may feel like I haven’t been very active recently but, I promise I been pushing hard with things in the works.  Can’t miss a Mise en Place though!  So as things come into development let me break it down today with what is upcoming and what’s going on.

What’s Going On-

Well first off we were all up pretty early this morning to drive Jenn to the airport.  Today she crosses the border and flies off to sunny San Francisco.  Off to soak up her first major conference as a researcher at the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics.  Which may sound boring as heck to you and I- which is probably why she didn’t invite me- but to her, this is the big show.  Good luck my love, I hope you learn some great old people stuff and meet some inspiring professionals.  Also, I requested she get a picture of the Full House house, but she didn’t seem to enthused.

That leaves the house to the kids and I- there gonna kill me aren’t they?

Eric and I got, not one, but two podcast episodes recorded this week.  I know I have been promising and promising the release soon, it’s on its way.  We’ve been sorting out some of the technical stuff and getting things all sorted out.  Over four episodes we have evolved to the point that episode one doesn’t seem as good anymore, but I let Eric know that you guys- my friends and followers- don’t give a care and will give us a bit of fumbling through the first couple shows.  Soon people, very soon.

Holy heck, the San Diego Comic Con!  I’ve been eating this stuff up this weekend.  Between Lemire announcing The Terrifics, Frank Miller announcing Super Man Year One and the hundred other little tidbits soaking through to the interwebs, it’s been crazy!  But best of all is the trailers we got swamped with yesterday- Justice League, Thor, the leaked Infinity War spot, Stranger Things, and best of all, Ready Player One, there has been so much excitement.  This year is gonna rock!  Plus announcements on new movies like Dr. Doom and Spawn!  And Skrulls are coming!  And the Eisner Awards.  And- and… it’s been a good weekend.

Last Weeks Posts-

Oh, I’m excited!  I had a fun idea for a new weekly series and to initiate it into the G.O.B. routine I thought “why not do a week long celebration?”  Starting tomorrow I’ll be going deep into my comic collection to begin the new deconstructed series.  This week you will get a good idea of how the series will work while I get 4 or 5 installments out.  I’m pumped, you’ll love it, it has fun, humour, art, and comic books!  What’s not to love.  Be sure to check it out and come by this week.

Thanks booknerds, happy SDCC weekend!

  2. Travel safe Jenn! While there’s over 2500 miles between me and San Francisco, I still feel an obligation to officially welcome you to the country. We hope you enjoy your stay in the land of Spider-Man, ‘Seinfeld,’ and Bruce Springsteen. I grant I just offered three East Coast examples but, again, there’s 2500+ miles between San Francisco and myself so, I’m working with what I know. I’ve heard San Francisco is absolutely gorgeous though!

I’m intrigued to see where this week goes on the Green Onion blog too!
“Deconstructed” huh? I can’t wait! Also, Green you can tell Eric I’m totally understanding of finding your groove. But I also get that perfection takes time too. What I’m saying is your podcast will be AMAZING whenever it arrives in whatever form it comes in, I’m sure!

Thanks, Jenn has been having a great trip, she’s really enjoying San Fran. Unfortunately she hasnt made it to the Full House house yet, but she is loving it.
I’ll let Eric know, haha. We are so close.

      1. Even if she can’t find her way to the Full House house, see if Jenn can figure out the answers to some questions that have been bothering me. What ever happened to predictability? The milkman? The paperboy? Evening TV? I miss those old familiar friends…waiting just around the bend.

    Hopefully Jenn had fun.
I just realized I’m way behind (I knew, but forgot) so the podcasts might already be up. I’ll keep reading n find out.
